The Rosa Hart Theatre Rededication Showcase presenting Marcia Ball takes place on Sunday, October 15th, 2023, following the city's largest annual music festival, Chuck Fest, on October 14th, 2023.
The nearly 50-year-old grand theatre is named in recognition of Rosa Hart and her instrumental contributions to cultural development and performing arts in Lake Charles, Louisiana, from 1927-1957. Marcia Ball was born in Orange, Texas, and raised in Vinton, Louisiana. The 2018 Texas State Musician Of The Year has earned worldwide fame and countless fans over her impressive 50-year career. Ball's Southwest Louisiana Acadian heritage, combined with a lifetime of absorbing Gulf Coast rhythm, rock, and blues, radiates in her original songs and the cover classics she performs.
